CSUN’s Tseng College provides advanced professional education to undergraduate, graduate, international and midcareer students. With more than $34 million in revenue and nearly 28,062 registrations in 2021-2022, the College is a leading provider of professional degrees, certificates and custom-designed programs. Major Duties

Under general supervision, the Senior Project Coordinator is assigned to manage a changing array of significant projects being undertaken and managed by CSUN’s Tseng College. The incumbent coordinates the work of key internal and external stakeholders and staff working on a given project.

  • Responsible for crafting and implementing a project communication and information management strategy that keeps all involved appropriately informed about progress, upcoming milestones, and timelines
  • Responsible for project planning either as an individual or as an engaged team member; internal and external relationship development and maintenance.
  • Writes and edits project-related materials and communications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in communications, public relations, marketing, creative writing, journalism, public administration, higher education, nonprofit management or a job-related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, progressively responsible technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year for year basis.
  • Experience in communications, project management, program development, public relations, marketing, creative writing, journalism, public administration, or higher education or nonprofit management, is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty and working knowledge of operational analysis and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Planning and managing complex projects with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Program development knowledge in an educational context (ex. associations, nonprofit organizations (museums, arts organizations, professional associations working with post-degree membership, public sector agencies, schools, and the like), or training and professional development organizations serving post-degree professionals).
  • Specialized skills in developing and managing programs that require working with college or university faculty and/or senior practitioners (including working with programs for international audiences).
  • Ability and specialized skills to expertly investigate and analyze problems with a broad administrative impact and implications.
  • Ability to: oversee and/or train others and provide lead work direction; interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures to develop conclusions and make recommendations; compile, write and present reports related to program or administrative specialty; and communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
  • Classification / grade: 1038 / Admin Analyst Specialist / 2
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $4170 - $5834 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $4170 - $7545 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
  • REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period. 
  • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
